Security services for construction and commercial sites
At Andor Group, we provide professional security services for construction sites, commercial premises, and a wide range of industries across South England and nationwide.
Our SIA-licensed security personnel are fully vetted, trained to BS7858 standards, and managed through our HitDesk workforce platform — giving you complete visibility and accountability across every shift, every site, every day.
Construction Site Security Guards
Our security guards provide a visible, proactive presence that deters unauthorised access, protects assets, and keeps your site compliant with health and safety requirements. Deployed to construction sites, industrial facilities, retail environments, and more, each officer is SIA-licensed, fully vetted, and briefed to your specific site requirements before deployment. Whether you need static guarding, concierge security, or a combination of both, we’ll build a solution around your operational needs.Mobile Security Patrols for Construction & Commercial Sites
Our mobile patrol service provides regular, randomised security visits to your site outside of core operating hours. SIA-licensed patrol officers conduct thorough inspections, check for signs of intrusion or damage, and respond to any incidents immediately. Every patrol is evidenced and logged through HitDesk, providing you with a full audit trail and the assurance that your site is being actively monitored around the clock.Security Dog Handlers for High-Risk Sites
For sites requiring an elevated level of deterrence and detection, our NASDU-certified security dog handlers provide an exceptionally effective security solution. The presence of a trained security dog and handler significantly reduces the risk of intrusion, theft, and criminal damage — particularly on large or high-value construction sites with multiple access points. All handlers are SIA-licensed and NASDU-certified, meeting the highest standards in the industry. Why Choose Andor Group for Construction Security Services?

What we cover
Andor Group provides the full range of site security and support as a single managed arrangement, rather than as separate contracts you have to coordinate.
- Construction site security guards — SIA-licensed, BS 7858-vetted officers for permanent cover
- Gatemen — access control, induction checks and delivery booking at the entry point (and how they differ from security guards)
- Mobile patrols — timed, verified visits for sites that do not warrant a permanent officer
- Security dog handlers — NASDU-trained teams for detection and visible deterrence
- Traffic marshals — vehicle movements, pedestrian segregation and the public interface
- CCTV and remote monitoring — wired, wireless, timelapse and scaffold alarms
- Delivery management — our own system, enforced at the gate by the people controlling access
- Hoarding and boarding — perimeters built to structural specification, and emergency boarding
- Vacant property protection — alarms, monitoring and patrols for empty buildings
- Site cabins and welfare — offices, welfare units, storage and toilets
Site-specific, not packaged
Most security is sold as a package and then applied to whatever site comes along. That is why so many arrangements look adequate on paper and fail in practice: the patrol frequency was set by a standard contract rather than by when the site is actually exposed, and the camera positions were decided before anyone walked the boundary.
We survey first. What determines the specification is the programme and its quiet periods, what plant and material will be on site and when, the boundary and its weak points, expected vehicle movements, neighbouring land use, and anything that has already happened. From that we write assignment instructions for your site rather than adapting a template.
The practical consequence is that we will sometimes recommend less than you asked for. A site with a sound perimeter and moderate overnight risk does not need a permanent officer, and saying so costs us the larger contract. It is a better basis for a long relationship than the alternative.
Choosing between officers, cameras and patrols
The three main options solve different problems, and the most expensive is not automatically the most effective.
A static officer deters before anything happens and intervenes while it is happening. Cameras record; an officer is the reason there is nothing to record. That matters most where the risk is a child on scaffolding rather than a thief, because recording that is no use to anyone.
Monitored CCTV gives continuous coverage with no nightly travel and, on a site with a defined perimeter, adequate power and clear sightlines to the approaches, can outperform a patrol that visits four times a night. Its limits are real: cameras cannot intervene, they depend on a response arrangement to mean anything, and they suit vegetation-heavy or visually complex sites poorly.
Mobile patrols suit sites where the residual risk is real but moderate, and portfolios of smaller sites in one area where a permanent officer at each is impossible to justify. They document what happened between visits, which is the wrong answer for a site being actively targeted.
Most sites end up with a combination, and the right combination changes as the project phases. It is worth reviewing rather than rolling forward. Two comparisons worth reading if you are weighing this up: manned guarding vs CCTV and mobile patrols vs static guards.
Site cameras and remote monitoring
Construction site cameras cover several distinct jobs, and specifying the wrong type is common. Wired systems suit settled layouts with mains power and give the best image quality. Wireless, solar-supported units suit enabling works and changing perimeters, and remove both the cabling and the generator. Timelapse is a project record rather than a security measure and will not alert anyone to anything. Scaffold alarms close the gap cameras most often miss, which is access to the structure itself.
Remote monitoring is what turns any of them from an evidence tool into a preventive one. An operator assesses an activation before anyone is dispatched, which is what keeps false calls from making the system unusable, and the agreed escalation runs from there. The detail of each is on the CCTV page.
Outsourcing site security
We look at when it stacks up, and when it does not, in when site security outsourcing makes sense. Clients outsource for three reasons: they do not want to carry SIA licensing and vetting obligations in-house, they need cover that flexes with a programme rather than a fixed headcount, and they need evidence for a principal contractor or insurer that an internal arrangement rarely produces.
The third is the one most underestimated. Every officer holds a valid SIA licence, screening is to BS 7858, and patrol attendance is verified by geo-fenced QR tags scanned on site rather than signed for afterwards. Shift logs, patrol records and incident reports are available through the HitDesk client portal during the shift, not written up the following week. A patrol that was not recorded is, evidentially, a patrol that did not happen.
Beyond construction
Construction is most of what we do, but the same teams cover commercial premises and retail parks, schools and education estates, vacant and part-occupied buildings, and events and short-term requirements. The specification differs — a school needs a different posture at the gate from a live site — but the licensing, vetting and reporting are the same.
Where we work
Our head office is in Southampton and we cover Hampshire and the wider south of England, including Portsmouth, Winchester, Basingstoke, Andover and Alton, along with London and the surrounding counties. We also work nationally for clients with sites spread across several regions.
Proximity matters because it determines response time and local knowledge. Where we already cover sites in an area, officers know the roads, the access constraints and the local response arrangements. Where a site sits well outside that, we will say so when quoting rather than implying a response we cannot deliver.
Accreditation
ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, certified for security guarding services, together with SafeContractor accreditation and SSIP approval, and Constructionline Gold membership certified against the Common Assessment Standard. Certificate numbers, scopes and expiry dates are all set out on our accreditations page.
Common questions
How quickly can you mobilise?
For most sites within our coverage, a few days, and faster where there is an urgent gap. What speeds it up is having the site layout, programme and induction process ready, because assignment instructions can then be written for your site rather than adapted. Our guide to deploying security officers covers what mobilisation involves.
Can you cover several sites under one contract?
Yes, and that is where the arrangement works hardest. A portfolio in one area shares patrol rounds and officers who know the locality, which makes the cover better as well as the cost lower.
Do we have to take a fixed package?
No. The specification is set from the site survey, and it should change as the project phases do. A site needs different cover during enabling works, at first fix and in the handover gap.
What reporting do we get?
Timestamped patrol and attendance records, visitor and delivery logs where gate cover is in place, and incident reports — all available through the HitDesk client portal as the shift happens rather than afterwards.
Are all your officers SIA licensed?
Yes, without exception, and licence details can be provided for verification before mobilisation. Screening is carried out to BS 7858, which covers identity, right to work and a verified employment history rather than a reference check.
What if we already have security that is not working?
Tell us what is in place and what keeps happening. Most underperforming arrangements turn out to have generic assignment instructions, cover weighted to the wrong hours, or no way of proving attendance. Those are diagnosable before anyone changes supplier.
